General Note
The Division of Agricultural Soils was est. in the Dept. of Agriculture in 1894. It moved to division status in 1899 when the first annual report of field operations was issued. In 1901 the division moved up to Bureau status. The first report from the Bureau of Soils is the third in the series of annual reports.
Numbering Peculiarities
Report for some years issued in two volumes: text (called "report"), and portfolio of maps.
